Albury Organic Vineyard


Albury Vineyard is the result of Nick Wenman’s passion for quality wine. Nick believes that key to the success of the wines is the vineyard’s commitment to organic and biodynamic principles, together with excellent winemakers and his talented vineyard manager Alex, one of the few female vineyard managers in England. Albury is a family-run vineyard, with Nick’s daughter Lucy now part of the team and granddaughter Poppy a regular visitor (if only to visit the bee-hives and sneak a taste of the honey!)

Albury Vineyard is situated on the southern slopes of the North Downs in the beautiful Surrey Hills, just outside Guildford. The vines are the traditional Champagne varietals of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, as well as some Seyval and Pinot Gris. They are dedicated to producing English wine of the highest quality; a still rosé and quality sparkling wines, the first of which were released for sale in May 2015.

On Our Menu…

Albury sparkling wine is produced using the same method as Champagne. Secondary fermentation takes place in the bottle over a minimum of two years to give the wine its fizz and character.

Their Chardonnay and Seyval Blanc based Blanc de Blancs sparkling wine is quintessentially English, with its pale lemon colour, citrus and fresh herbs on the nose, and fresh goosberry palate. Well balanced with a hint of honeyed sweetness and honeyed almond it is ideal for drinking on its own, but with enough crisp acidity for it to go with foods such as smoked fish or light meat dishes.
