Meet The Team: Andrew Taylor

What attracted you to the role at Bel & The Dragon?

I’m super excited to be joining the team at Bel & The Dragon Churt. As an outsider looking in, I have always perceived it to be a forward-thinking brand that cares passionately about giving great service, delivering first-class food and drink, and that puts the guest at the heart of everything they do. I was looking for somewhere that I could be proud to call my place of work and look forward to continuing the great work that Mike did to establish Bel & The Dragon within the local community. 

What did you do before you joined Bel & The Dragon?

I ran two country inns in the Cotswolds for a number of years before deciding to spread my wings and forge a career in premium, forward-thinking businesses. I’ve worked in a variety of management roles from coaching inns in the New Forest to larger boutique hotels in London and have successfully launched a number of flagship sites. Throughout my 15 or so years running various inns & restaurants, I have always sought out roles that would enable me to remain committed to my core values. 

Tell us a little more about you…

Having recently moved out of London, I’ve set up home not too far away with my fiancée Kerry and our 11-month-old Wheaten Terrier. The original plan was to spend a bit of time renovating the place before moving in but when this amazing opportunity came up I would have been mad to turn it down. I guess it’s not so bad living in a building site when your place of work is as beautiful as Bel & The Dragon Churt!

What do you do in your spare time?

I’m a terrible golfer but love the sport and look forward to getting on (or as close as I can) to the local fairways. Having moved out of the city, I take every given opportunity to explore the local countryside with the pup so any local knowledge would be much appreciated!
