Quip Shed Comedy is excited to be back for a night of award winning comedy at Bel & The Dragon, Kingsclere!
On Thursday 17th July, we have comedy circuit legends Aideen McQueen, Ben Van der Velde, headliner Michael Shafar, and host Lyle Barke!
Aideen McQueen is one of the brightest sparks in the new generation of Irish comics. She’s sassy, sexy, saucy and side-splittingly funny. Aideen appears regularly on RTE, TG4, BBC Northern Ireland and BBC Radio 4. She is one of the resident comperes at the world famous International Comedy Club in Dublin and has appeared alongside Sean Hughes, Reginald D Hunter, Ardal O’ Hanon, Dylan Moran, Johnny Vegas, Phil Kay and Frankie Boyle.
Ben Van der Velde is a stand-up comedian, actor, improviser and presenter. Over the past decade he has spread joy and nonsense to all four corners of the British Isles, as well as Greece, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Estonia, Latvia, Finland and Norway. He is a regular host and act for respected British comedy clubs such as The Comedy Store, Komedia, The Glee, Headliners, Up the Creek, The Stand, Just the Tonic, Top Secret Comedy, Outside the Box and Comedy Club 4 Kids, as well as hosting stages for Bestival, Festival No.6, End of the Road and Sunday Papers Live.
Michael Shafar has quickly become one of the most exciting new acts on the UK comedy circuit, performing at the country's biggest clubs. You might already know Michael from his appearances on Network 10's The Project and Studio 10, ABC's Comedy Bites and triple j's Good Az Friday. You may have also watched his debut special A(LIVE) on Amazon Prime or his most recent special Alright, Next Joke on YouTube. In 2025 he'll be touring around Australia, the UK and mainland Europe. If you subscribe to his mailing list, he may even put on a show in your city.
"Shafar circumnavigates the line between edgy and offensive with beautiful finesse" The Age
"He’s a brand of comedian that is getting rarer and rarer to come by these days, and if you’re among those who fear comedy has gotten too politically correct, this show will put those fears to rest." TimeOut
"Shafar has a disarmingly relaxed approach and an intelligent sense of humour with a wildly inventive, darkly comic imagination." The Edinburgh Reporter
We cannot wait to see you there!
Please note that the line-up is subject to change and this event is for people over the age of 18.
Doors open at 7pm. Show begins at 8pm
