SHAKESPEARE IN THE GARDEN – 23 JUNE 2022
23rd Jun 2022
After a somewhat disrupted year, we’re all in need of a “Summer of Love” more than ever. That’s why we’ve teamed up with the amazing Open Bar to bring you Shakespeare In The Garden at Bel & The Dragon Reading. A Shakespeare play, full to the brim with comedy, romance and adventure, all while enjoying a drink in our waterside terrace. A four-person performance with a contemporary twist on one of the bard’s most mischievous tales. Everyone wants Bianca but until her sister, the quick-tempered Katherine, is married off, their father won’t let anyone near her. Petruchio arrives in town announcing his need for a wife and he has one desire: that she be rich. Bianca’s suitors smell an opportunity… they’ll pay Petruchio to marry Katerine. And so follows a battle of wills for the ages. Tickets are priced at £20 per person. Please get in touch if you have any questions.THIS YEAR’S SHOW – TAMING OF THE SHREW

FAQS
What happens if it rains?
No matter rain or shine, THE SHOW MUST GO ON! Nothing says British outdoor theatre than a bit of drizzle, so waterproofs are advised (Elizabethan ruffs less so). We’d also like to encourage you to BYOB (Bring Your Own Blankets) to stay all wrapped up and cosy.
How do I get my ticket?
When you’ve purchased your ticket, you will get sent a confirmation straight to your inbox. Where possible, you don’t need to print off your tickets, just show your digital ticket at the door.
When do I need to arrive?
Most shows start at 7:30 pm through to 10 pm, however, we advise arriving by 6:30 pm to take your seat and to grab a much-needed drink before the show. If you’d like to eat beforehand, it’s best to book in advance and let us know you’re watching the show.
