Skippy and the team are hosting a fun event on Thursday 18 November to celebrate this years’ new Beaujolais Nouveau vintage. Enjoy 3 courses of fine French fare alongside cheese and of course, the main event, the 2021 Beaujolais Nouveau itself. You won’t want to miss it!
We will transport you to Burgundy-en-Hampshire for what is always an event full of fun and frivolity.
On the third Thursday of November, wine lovers everywhere celebrate the release of Beaujolais Nouveau. The tradition of toasting the vintage with Beaujolais wine has been around for centuries. The grape is especially popular in France, where it’s known as vin de primeur or “early wines.” Beaujolais Nouveau is made from the Gamay grape, it’s a purple-pink wine and is bottled after only 6–8 weeks after harvest with very little tannin or bitterness due to being so fresh. Expect bright red fruit flavours such as cherry, strawberry and raspberry alongside some banana, figs and pear drops.
