17th January 2018
February is just around the corner and we will be celebrating the end of January with the finest of fizz, Laurent-Perrier to be precise. If you have given Dry January a go or are simply glad to see that the days are finally getting longer again then make sure you mark 1st February – or #WetFeb as we refer to it – in your diary and book a table at Bel & The Dragon. The champagne will be flowing – on us…
Mulled Sloe Gin
15th November 2016
Sloe gin is a seasonal favourite of ours at Bel & The Dragon. Making it yourself is a sloe process but thankfully our partners & friends at Sipsmith have this covered. Their splendid recipe uses hand picked sloes and their award-winning gin as the base. Furthermore, it makes a very pleasing winter warming cocktail and a refreshing change from the traditional whisky & wine varieties…
Raise A Glass To Autumn
8th November 2016
The day is Thursday and the month is November. The place is Bel & The Dragon. The occasion is special and a handful of wine-loving friends are joining you. Your waitress passes you our comprehensive Cellar List. You order a bottle of 2011 Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge 1er Cru`Morgeot`and one of your friends says ‘Oh, I prefer the 2009 Les Fiefs de Lagrange. Do you have any?’ Another adds ‘Can we try the 2010 Château Talbot Connétable?’

Natural wine at Albury Vineyard
15th August 2016
There is no doubt about it, English sparkling wine’s premium status is well earned. In fact, it won 80 medals & trophies in this year’s Decanter World Wine Awards. So do not be surprised if you hear talk, on the grapevine that is, of a new viticultural phenomenon. I am, of course, referring to natural wine.
4th July 2016
Summer is a time when fresh produce abounds. Light suppers, vibrant salads & fruity puddings loaded with colour and flavour are to be embraced both day and night.
Supper with Olivier Leflaive
7th June 2016
Olivier Leflaive is indeed the king of Puligny-Montrachet and our relationship began with him many years ago. As one of Burgundy’s most respected wine producers, Olivier is renowned for offering wines of exceptional quality, consistency and style. We are immensely proud to be working alongside him in producing our very own Bel & The Dragon white and red Burgundies and are delighted to showcase both at our July Supper Club.
London Cup Tastings
30th May 2016
Summer is the perfect time to imbibe a light, refreshing cocktail and Sipsmith London Cup is a sublime choice. Bel & The Dragon have a longstanding relationship with Sipsmith, sharing a common appetite for “old meets new” and enthusiasm for local, seasonal ingredients. Like us, they love experimenting with unique flavours and their London Cup is a perfect example combining their award-winning London Dry Gin with infusions of Earl Grey tea, borage, lemon verbena and a whole host of other botanicals.
Raise a glass to spring
23rd May 2016
Heavy wines to the back of the cellar, spring is here. Time to bring forth the light, crisp varieties that go hand in hand with the warmer weather. We are not suggesting you need to drink your way through the new season, but we do recommend you try a selection of our favourites. After all, our spring-cleaned cellar is sure to have something to whet your appetite…
The Queen’s Favourite Gin & Dubonnet
26th April 2016
Last week marked one of the biggest events of the British calendar year as the nation began its celebrations to commemorate Queen Elizabeth’s 90th birthday. With the official celebrations taking place at Windsor Castle between 12-15th May and further festivities continuing long into the summer, there are ample opportunities to celebrate over the coming months. If, like us, you do not have tickets to the popular celebrations then worry not – there are other ways to mark the occasion.
