Last week marked one of the biggest events of the British calendar year as the nation began its celebrations to commemorate Queen Elizabeth’s 90th birthday. With the official celebrations taking place at Windsor Castle between 12-15th May and further festivities continuing long into the summer, there are ample opportunities to celebrate over the coming months. If, like us, you do not have tickets to the popular celebrations then worry not – there are other ways to mark the occasion.

At Bel & The Dragon we can think of no better way to toast her majesty’s magnificent 90 years than with her favourite tipple and word has it that the monarch enjoys a Gin & Dubonnet as an aperitif at lunchtime each day. So, without further ado, please join us to raise a glass to her majesty the Queen…

Serves 1

  • 25ml Sipsmith Gin
  • 50ml Dubonnet
  • Orange twist to garnish

Method

Pour one part gin and two parts Dubonnet over lots of ice and stir in a mixing glass. Pour into a chilled whisky glass, add the orange twist and enjoy.

Need a little help getting started? In honour of the Queen’s 90th birthday, Bel & The Dragon Windsor will be serving Gin & Dubonnet throughout the summer.
