“It doesn’t matter if you go all out or just wear a hint of red. The main thing is that you get involved and wear red to beat heart disease.” February is National Heart Month and this is the caption for the British Heart Foundations annual Wear It. Beat It. campaign.

Last year we raised nearly £500 for the British Heart Foundation when more than 100 people enjoyed coffee & cake and gave generously at Bel & The Dragon Godalming. A local mother with her own support group heart2heart KIDS first approached us to get involved:

“My son Rocky was born with CHD (Congenital Heart Disease) and it is a cause very close to my heart. Rocky had emergency heart surgery at Great Ormond Street Hospital when he was just 1 day old. He went on to have further Open Heart surgery at age 4 and remains under the care off GOSH. This day is a great way to raise funding for The BHF’s research into heart disease/defects and to help find more cures. It is also is a great way to raise awareness that heart conditions can affect people of all ages and to be aware of the symptoms.”

We are delighted to show our support again this year serving a selection of delicious treats for a good cause. Pop along to Bel & The Dragon Godalming on Friday 5th February between 9:30am – 11:30am and help us raise money for life-saving research.
