A Dog’s Life

Planning a trip with a dog can be a challenge. One question that often has the owner pausing for thought is where to eat. Thankfully, it is simpler than you might think – or at least this is certainly the case in the South of England. The warm convivial atmosphere at Bel & The Dragon means guests on both two and four legs are quickly made to feel at home. What’s more, there are no breed or size restrictions (one of our regular guests is a Great Dane). All we ask is that you find a table in the bar or outside.

But where to stay, I hear you ask? For a special treat book yourself into “Wayfarer” at Bel & The Dragon Kingsclere, a comfortable bedroom located on the ground floor that has been specifically designed with dogs in mind. The spacious room has a large double bed, en-suite bathroom and bedding for your canine friend. Kingsclere is the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway and the sprawling Newbury countryside offers many an opportunity to get out and explore. The £130 a night room fee includes a small charge for pets to cover housekeeping and a few additional treats.

For something a little different then try our pampered pet package. Enjoy a two-night stay with breakfast, a three-course meal from our weekend brunch menu, half a bottle of Laurent-Perrier Brut NV Champagne on arrival & some fantastic doggie extras for just £300 (or add a third night for £100). This package is available Friday – Monday at Bel & The Dragon Kingsclere until the end of November 2016. Definitely worth barking about.
